this proposal won me 2 direct clients

Hi Reader,

Last year, I cold-emailed a brand I’d wanted to work with for ages!

They actually replied, I couldn’t believe it.

Unfortunately, they didn’t want to jump on a call with me. (no time)

But they DID want to see what I could do for them.

Errrr….What do I send them? How do I get them to say yes?

What I could have done was send them one project idea and a flat fee and hoped for the best!

But I had no idea what their budget was.

Instead, I created a proposal with three packages for them to choose from. Each one aligned with their specific business goals, based on my online research.

This turned the conversation from:

“Do you want to work with me? Yes or no!”😭

To: “Which package works best for you?” 😁

They actually came back and chose one of the packages!

I turned a cold email into a project in just a couple of weeks.

This pitching template has since won me two direct client projects with big brands. So I’m sharing it with you.

What’s inside the template:

  • The exact slide I use when a client says “we only have 2k”
  • How to lay out your case studies to win projects
  • How to frame motion design as not just “the video bit”
  • A system for pitching that doesn’t feel salesy

I created this template inside Pitch. I’ve been using Pitch for the past year for all my presentations. It has great video tools for motion designers, plus other key features like analytics and the new Pitch Agent - Pitch’s new AI assistant.

Grab the free template here.

(Don’t forget to duplicate it)

Appreciate you

Hayley

P.S I’ve also added instructions for using Pitch Agent. It helps you easily personalise the deck for each client. I’ve even shared the prompts I use! It saves tons of time, so you can focus on the creative work.

This issue is sponsored by Pitch Hi Reader, Have you ever had to pitch a client and wondered what you should include to actually win the project? Your deck’s open, your laptop’s covered in tabs, and you start thinking you need to include everything to win the project. I’ve been there – but this simple pitch deck structure has helped me win 2 big client projects last year, and it’s helped other motion designers too. Here’s what I include in my pitch decks: I focus on the client, not me or my...

This issue is sponsored by Pitch Have you ever had your day completely turned around by a small act of kindness? Last week, I disembarked from a sauna-like train from Manchester to London. I saw a group of young women taking photos of a handwritten message left by the Underground staff. It immediately made me smile. It got me thinking about how we might create these unexpected moments of delight for our clients. 😊 5 smile-trigger ideas for your clients: Send them a “motion design health...

Hey Reader, Nassib is a motion designer with 20 years of experience in the industry. He’d never had a system when it came to client outreach. Never properly organised his client relationships. Or maintained a systematic approach to follow ups. Nassib finally went back through his email history as part of a Client Outreach Sprint we did inside Creative & Coin. Buried in his inbox was a potential $60k project he never followed up on! He learned the client did go ahead with that work....
